A Pink Pistols member posted this at a California gun website I read:

Shooting Sports will now be in the Gay Games

About three weeks ago, a Pink Pistol member of the Gay Games committee convinced the rest of the committee to incorporate shooting sports in the gay games; the vice president vetoed it on ideology grounds. Then, ironically enough, the Europeans stated that they would withdraw their support unless shooting sports were incorporated into the Gay Games.

I don’t know which events will be held, but I do think this will go a long way towards having firearms become accepted in urban gay culture.
