Congress Tells Trump to Condemn Hate

Congress To Trump: Denounce Hate Groups | HuffPost

Now the question of course is, what will he do. If he signs it, his base will be apoplectic. If he does not, then, well, lets think about the implications of that. Ya think that he might be squirming right now??

Sept 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. Congress passed a resolution late on Tuesday calling on President Donald Trump to condemn hate groups after Trump was criticized for his response to the violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, a month ago.

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously adopted the resolution, U.S. Representative Gerry Connolly, a Democrat from Virginia, said in a statement. The Senate approved the measure on Monday.

Tonight, the House of Representatives spoke in one unified voice to unequivocally condemn the shameful and hate-filled acts of violence carried out by the KKK (Ku Klux Klan), white nationalists, white supremacists and neo-Nazis in Charlottesville,” Connolly said.

It also urges Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate acts of violence and intimidation by white nationalists, neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan and similar groups.
.

Prediction: He will sign it as he has little choice, Then neither he nor Sessions will do a damned thing

A government that demands speech is as evil as a government that denies free speech.

If you were truly a Patriot you would already know this. But you don't and you aren't.

That is complete and utter horseshit. He is not being compelled to say anything. He is only being urged to speak.

Let me remind you that he chose to run for office and he is now the President of the United States. Any fool would have known, or should have know, that the office carries with it enormous responsibilities . That included the responsibility to lead by example which he has not done. That includes to responsibility to speak out when necessary. If anything is compelling him to speak, it is those responsibilities of the office that he has chosen to occupy, not congress. If he doesn't like it he can resign.

The fact that he is now in this awkward position is his own doing and no one else's

I hope Trump tells Congress to stop acting like spoiled children, that he's not going to play along with their demands that he speak from their script and tells them to stop the drama and do their jobs.

He had renounced hatred. That would never be enough for you or the other buttercup nancys of the world anyway.

More of your horseshit. He renounced it in a very scripted and phony way, and the next day the real Trump took it all back. We all know that. Stop lying!

This is what happens when you make a deal with the Democrats. Payback time.

I disagree. No matter what he says, it won't be good enough. He needs to focus on his job, not trying to placate crybabies.

I disagree! What he said on the Tuesday following Charlottesville- as phone and scripted as it was- would have been good enough if he didn't fuck it up the next day.

I do agree that he should focus on his job. Stay the hell off of twitter. Turn off the TV, Stay off of the golf course and actually study the issues and get involved.

Placate crybabies? Who at the crybabies? Those who decry racism and anti-Semitism? Those who expect the president to lead by example? To demonstrate a moral compass??
