Comparing Allan West to Colin Powell

Both were officers in the military, yet they're both very different. Powell represents what the military is supposed to be like in terms of values, fairness and taking a stand against which is wrong based on those values, West is just a Tea Bagger who goes against what the Army is all about, especially when it comes to religion where he has repeatedly bashed the religion of Islam. One is a fake firebrand that does a lot if talking because they know how to say what others want to hear, the other is a quiet, mature laid back leader who leads by example. Why are they so different?
