Right! See how easy that was? I'm correct, you're wrong.
It wasn't an official colony of the US, but it was under the heel of American power. There were clauses in its constitution allowing the US to intervene in its territory and take control of its government. Much of its infrastructure was owned by American companies, including its best land.
About 24% of the population was of the Middle Class, leaving most Cubans in poverty. That's how Castro was able to beat Batista. Most Cubans were living in horrible conditions.
The US imposes sanctions upon Cuba that prohibit it from opening bank accounts and lines of credit with Western financial institutions and cargo ships are barred from anchoring at American ports for six months after anchoring in Cuba. There's a long list of regulations, like no industrial machinery or product that contains components protected by American patents is permitted to be imported into Cuba. If foreign companies, including banks and governments, violate the economic sanctions imposed by the US on Cuba, they're heavily fined and could potentially be economically sanctioned as well.
Doing business with Cuba is a serious liability; hence, the Island has been reduced to a "leper colony" economically and politically. It's a country you want to avoid in order not to anger the 800-pound gorilla 90 miles away from its shores.
You haven't proven anything other than you're an ignorant moron.
Whenever public funds bail out your beloved capitalist masters, that's socialism. You can deny it, but when the public has to bail out your capitalist lords, that's socialism saving capitalism.
My family on the Island is pro-Castro and socialist. Most Cubans despite the hardship caused by the sanctions, are pro-socialist and don't want to see Cuba become another Puerto Rico. Cubans will soon be liberated from the American capitalist empire's economic terrorism, when they join BRICS and the Zoomers take power in the US, in a few decades. The Zoomers are the most socialist generation in American history and they're surely going to lift the economic embargo on Cuba.
You're delusional.
