American companies would lose hundreds of billions of dollars if they slashed investment in China or the nations increased tariffs, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said in a report highlighting the cost of a full decoupling of the world’s largest economies.

American gross domestic product would see a one-time loss of as much as $500 billion should U.S. companies reduce foreign direct investment in China by half, the Washington-based business lobbying group said in a report on Wednesday. Applying a 25% tariff on all two-way trade would trim U.S. GDP by $190 billion annually by 2025, the group said in a joint study with Rhodium Group, a New York data and analytics firm.

Bloomturd, sold out to China long ago, so of course they would say we can’t break from China. They are communist ass kissing fags, just like you.

And you type that using a keyboard made in China... :lame2:

Yup, because politicians who set all the rules in Washington for the last 50 years did nothing to protect our manufacturing sectors. Politicians like Joe Biden, who sold this country out in return for personal profit from foreign money quid pro quo bribes. Having four years of adding manufacturing jobs was nice while it lasted. Back to business as usual with Status Quo Joe.

The China class and its damage to America - American Thinker

In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote: "If there are rats in the cellar you are most likely to see them if you go in very suddenly... The rats are always there in the cellar, but if you go in shouting and noisily they will have taken cover before you switch on the light.” In this regard, Donald Trump was the surprise light that exposed the rats gnawing away at America's foundations since at least the 1980s.

Writing in the Tablet, Lee Smith explains what coalesced the disparate parts of the establishment into a unified force against Donald Trump and his MAGA policies. It was globalization, or more specifically the China trade.

Why did they [the corporate and political class] trade with an authoritarian regime and send millions of American manufacturing jobs off the China, impoverishing working Americans? Because it made them rich. They salved their consciences by telling themselves they had no choice but to deal with China: It was big, productive, and efficient, and its rise was inevitable. And besides, the American workers hurt by the deal deserved to be punished -- who could defend a class of reactionary and racist ideological naysayers standing in the way of what was best for progress?

President Trump was elected to stand up for America's long-abused middle class. He attacked the self-serving establishment, naming names. Not used to such criticism and fearing their rice bowls would be smashed by the MAGA hammer, the elite gained a powerful motive for solidarity against President Trump. They formed what Smith calls the China class. And with this class consciousness, the elites joined to resist Trump's MAGA policies by means fair and foul. This further cemented their relationship with their Chinese patrons.
Excellent thread right on the money....this will be the item that Trump's picks will run on and the establishment in both parties have no answer for...McConnell's wife earns huge bucks in China...so it was no wonder that Mitch would never defend Trump....Pelosi and Biden's family have gotten filthy rich from doing business deals in China...ie Hunter....and Pelosi's crooked son....
Trump made a lot of money in China along with his family, I noticed you left that out.
If Trump is a businessman and all of the business has been moved to China, where is he going to do his business? Duh.
Fortunately, Trump recognized that problem and worked to fix it. But China and its democrat minions would have none of it. So they sabotaged the economy and the election with the Wuhan virus/blue plague.
Again, it is not just the Dems it is the wealthy like Trump who do business with China and then turn around and tell you it's bad, M'kay and you are dumb enough to believe it.
No, the democrats don’t say it’s bad. They acquiesce.

No doubt inside the beltway GOP made bucks as well. Want to get away with anything make sure BOTH political parties (a phrase I use loosely) have their hands dirty.
