China's downfall throughout history has been its arrogance. So they will probably self-destruct before they become a serious threat.

But a State-Directed economy, especially when it's State-Directed Capitlaism can be very efficient. Hitler did it. National Socialism was a State Directed economy. Had Hitler not been a megolmaniacal nutcase, he very well might have ruled the world. All he had to do was wait another 5 years to start his murderous invasions and he couldn't have been stopped.

I don't see the Chinese as being particularly militaristic. They don't want to tangle with Japan, Taiwan or South Korea. Or, especially -- Us.

I also understand that China is facing real, serious, population shrinkage. It could be propaganda but their "One-Child" policy virtually wiped out an entire generation of females.

Besides, it isn't so much that China is all that brilliant when it comes to manufacturing, it's the fact that we're so stupid. All their factories, most of their engineering -- Designed by Americans, Germans and Japanese. In the old days.

Now they have indigenous people taking over. While we're graduating stinking, thieving, lying lawyers, they're graduating Engineers and Doctors. While we have 76 quintillion Womens studies degrees running through our society, the Chinese have scientists and engineers and mathematicians.

The first serious U.S politician to talk about China exploiting America was Donald John Trump. The first politician to say he was going to correct the imbalance in the relationship. I recall when he was so open I was shocked. Such talk in Canada at that time would place you on a government watch list and here was a politician calling it for what it was.

I also recall CNN and MSNBC hosts in particular openly laughing at Trumps efforts, suggesting that basically the U.S couldn't win in such a trade war. They scoffed at the suggestion, clearly poor understandings of trade consumption and tariff policies, among other policies that could easily bring some business back and apply a cost to any trade abusers, friend or foe.

There may not be a complete decoupling but there will be a decoupling of dependence. The United States in all her glory must never be dependent on a foreign nation, not if the West is to survive as free societies.
