Yes, there are more white people in poverty in absolute terms. But as a percentage of the demographic population, there are fewer poor white people relative to the total number of white people than there are of Hispanics or blacks. So if the virus kills poor people disproportionately, it will kill a relative higher percentage of the black and Hispanic population than it will of the white population, even if it kills more whites.

The community hurt most will be the blacks because many of their jobs are in the service industry and because their poverty level means they live in closer quarters which are more heavily populated, plus lack of health insurance so they won't go to doctor or hospital if they get sick. Lack of testing everywhere is putting everyone at risk.

I think 59% of the deaths have been black people

that number is nowhere near accurate; especially worldwide

it DOES look it is true that black people are at greater risk of serious issues when they catch the disease; but that is because more black people live an unhealthy lifestyle & are more prone to have diabetes, blood pressure issues & high cholesterol (which are all related to obesity rates)

black people also tend to live in closer quarters in large metro areas

this article gives some good info & shows that the infection rate is higher for blacks; but that number does not even come close to be 59% of all deaths
