Gotcha. In all my Navy years, I guess which predated this usage, I never heard a Marine use that term. I always heard "Oorah!"

Wow! All those years hanging around Marines and that is another thing I have never heard. I have had several Marines that worked for me in my present job with the Army. They never uttered that word.

I had an entire conversation with a Marine one morning only using the word 'HUA' while I was working with their unit on an Op. I walked into the ready-room, where a Gunny Sergeant stood - he offered me a coffee cup, saying, "HUA?" I took the cup and answered, "HUA!" He poured me a cup of joe and I said 'HUA', which was taken as 'Thank you'. He replied, 'HUA!', which was meant as 'You're welcome'. We both took sips of coffee, he sighed and said, 'HUA', which I took as, 'That's some good coffee.' I responded with my own 'HUA' again, which was taken as 'I agree'. He smiled held up his cup, we tapped mugs, then he exited the room, giving one last 'HUA' as he left. It was the strangest damn conversation I ever had in my 30 years in.
