Because of Trump's tariffs on aluminum, Coke says it may have to harm the environment and start selling more Coke in plastic bottles instead!
Coke gets its aluminum from Canada, so would have to pay the tariff.
Here's an idea, Coke--- why not try buying your aluminum from America, more specifically from ALCOA, the Aluminum Company of America,
you know, founded by Charles Martin Hall, the American inventor who created the process by which aluminum could be made cheaply!!!

Coke is being alarmist, most of their sales are in plastic anyway, as well as their sports drinks, juices and bottled water.

Or go back to reusable GLASS Bottles.

I don't know why, but I occasionally still find Coke in the old glass bottles (for a fantastic marked up price), but for some reason, it tastes 10X better in glass! It is like a drug!
takes you back to childhood----maybe you found some with the
cocaine in it ? codeine??

Could be but I doubt it. As I recall, they had 4-5 bottles of the stuff loose on a shelf for like $1.79 a bottle (small glass bottle) and I said what the hell, so bought one, and it was like a rush drinking it down cold, way more intense and tasty than anything in plastic or cans. Just about blew the back of my head off.

And I just don't get it--- of the three, the glass bottle is the most environmentally friendly and I happen to be a great aficionado of all things glass. If these companies really are Eco-friendly, bring back the glass. Glass rocks.

I remember that FIZZY BRAIN FREEZE----10 cents a bottle---and 2 cents back for the return. BUT I think the caps were aluminum ---

A good chance sweetened with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

The reason is cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

Why didn't liberals ban those plastic bottles along with plastic straws?

Because the ban on plastic straws was only virtue signaling. It was never a serious measure to reduce the use of plastics.

Oh, and just ignore all those covid masks that ended up in the streets and waterways strangling wildlife.

Wow what a great idea.... Solves the problem and there's nothing to bitch about! Oh wait.... The whole point of talking about it is to bitch right?

Is ALCOA cleaning up their superfund sites? ... or is this left to the tax-payers ... the sad part is aluminum ore is processed using electricity, lots and lots and lots of electricity ... are we burning coal to produce this electricity? ... the environment is better off using plastic ...

Disclamer: The red color is from iron, which is harmless ... but the water is heavily alkaline, full of lye ... poisonous to life ... MUCH MUCH worse than carbon dioxide, which is plant food ... alas, that red color is dramatic, I couldn't resist ...

RECYCLED aluminum ... of course ... produces a tiny fraction of pollution and CO2 ...

I think you are probably getting Coke from Mexico. They still use glass and real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup in their recipe. Imported, so the higher price.

Soda drinkers don't care about taste ... or skunkiness ... or how many years the stuff has been sitting around ...

Why beer is rarely sold in plastic ... some say it shouldn't be sold in aluminum either ... yes, I do pour canned beer into a glass, only a little nerdish about such matters ...
