Which nation are you suggesting? One of the 36 that has better healthcare than us?

So, you are in favor of a system that many wait for surgery until they die? The reason many of those countries you are so proud of touting, have very long waits. Those fortunate to make it long enough and still healthy enough to get the procedures have a high survival rate. Rationing does improve the statistics, but doesn't help the patient much.

This pretense that doctors are going to quit because of how they get paid reminds me of the pretense of those people that make more that $250K a year saying they were just going to stop making more than $250K because they'd pay a few extra bucks in taxes.

Paying taxes is not the same as being forced into working under the conditions of a federal bureaucracy.

What is the work life going to be like for doctors under ObamaCare? Eventually, they'll have little choice in where they live and whom they treat.

One of the objectives of centralized control is to equalize treatment. Every doctor will be required to treat a standard number of patients. The government will determine how many doctors will be allowed to practice in an area - directing others to areas deemed "under-served" if they wish to stay in practice. It's not at all the same as paying more in taxes (although this is also a Big Government economy killer).
