Goalposts didn't move at all. Licht tried to move CNN more center and did a lousy job doing it because the employees in CNN are too ideological to pivot to actually telling just the news. Before he became the CEO of CNN, he was the founding executive producer of Morning Joe on MSNBC and the executive producer & showrunner of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. And you want to portray him as a "RWNJ"? Here's what got him fired from CNN.

On his first day as chairman and CEO of CNN, Licht sent a memo to all employees saying, "Sadly too many people have lost trust in the news media. I think we can be a beacon in regaining that trust by being an organization that exemplifies the best characteristics in journalism: fearlessly speaking truth to power, challenging the status quo, questioning ‘group-think’ and educating viewers and readers with straightforward facts and insightful commentary, while always being respectful of differing viewpoints. First and foremost, we should, and we will be advocates for truth." One such method involves limiting CNN's use of the term "breaking news" to stories that have a significant importance. Licht has expressed a desire to change negative perceptions of CNN among Republicans.

In late 2022, Licht received criticism as CNN terminated the contracts of several long-time correspondents including Brian Stelter, John Harwood, and Jeffrey Toobin. The Washington Post described the moves "as the latest evidence of a shift to a less politically charged tone under new leader Chris Licht."

Licht was fired as CNN's president and CEO in June 2023 after The Atlantic revealed that employees had become unhappy with him over actions taken during his tenure.



MS Now doesn't lie as well as Fox News and liberals don't like to be kept in an echo chamber? Wasn't the whole purpose of Bluesky was to get away from the "evils" of X & Elon so they can say what they want to say? They banned people for not being woke enough for them. They ran Rob Reiner (RIP) off of Bluesky because he posted that he accepted the fact that Trump won the 2024 election even though he hated Trump. There's a site called Democratic Underground that will delete & ban people if they don't hold "their values". Conservatives/republicans are way more willing to go and debate liberals/progressives than the reverse. Who's the left's version of Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro? Those willing to go and debate those hold different opinions all over the place. Don't come me with some lame names like Harry Sisson. When he debates someone that's conservative, he usually gets his clock cleaned.
