CNN threatens to DOX an individual for exercising free speech

When president posts this garbage it becomes news.
Trump has really tapped into this swamp of insidious smallness a portion of the population including himself suffers from.

You are still focusing on Trump, when CNN blackmaiils private citizens. A bit odd choice. The victim has come out as a 15 year old and gay person. Seems like you don't stand for minorities after all. CNN targets kids all the same...

If they wanted, CNN could sue the individual responsible for using their trademark without their consent.
Instead, they chose the petty act that most Democrats use to get revenge against private people.

If CNN had a case, they would have pursued it.
Who says they won't? It's only been a couple of days. For now, they seem to be satisfied with the apology offered by HanAssholeSolo.
I'm sure that their lawyers would have chosen a course that would win in court rather than make their client look like absolute assholes like they do. Attacking a kid for exercising some satire is bad optics and even worse juju.

The memes against them are going to explode now. I'm looking forward to it.
already has.

anyone with any sense knows when you whine STOP THAT most people will just amp it up.

Complexity is not allowed, because the simple mind can't comprehend it.
You mean minds like those that support Donald Trump...are you fucking kidding me ...like the Unhinged Trump swupporters having a melt down because someone posted the Declaration of Independence ...you weak sad Bimbo

Your assurances are worthless. They're not based on anything tangible. They acknowledged they are satisfied with the apology.

What CNN did was juvenile and likely intended to ensure that the guy gets harassed by the same kind of assholes out there causing violence in the streets.

Doxing people isn't about exposing them the way a whistleblower would do. It's about encouraging the scum of the earth to go after an enemy, which is why they make sure the crazy people know where they live. It's usually the kind of information that hackers share but in this case, it's an organization that tries to hold itself out as being professional. CNN is anything but professional. They used their vast resources to go after a little guy and make his life hell because he expressed an opinion they didn't like.

The guy did nothing illegal. Given the current violent climate among the radical leftwing nuts, this could well be considered inciting violence against a specific person.

Will they accept the blame if this leads to the guy being stalked, harassed, assaulted or worse?

Fuck CNN.

"dox
[däks]
VERB
1. search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the Internet, typically with malicious intent:
2. "hackers and online vigilantes routinely dox both public and private figures"

"Dox, or being doxed, in terms of online forum sites, is the physical equivalent of being butt-raped irl. Just as all the greats have, when a person is "doxed", all their personal information is made available for all users to see. Names, addresses, phone numbers and school/work are not spared, and this usually leads to the person ceasing all ties with said websites, if not the interwebs as a whole."
Urban Dictionary: dox

After they bullied him, sure. They bullied him because they had no case for slander or logo infringement. The bullying is a favored Democrat tactic. Used on the national stage in politics, on the campuses of our Universities, and in our media.

Surprised I am not.

 yea he was BULLIED into an apology and admitting he was a fucking troll spreading hate.

Faux News has lied for 20 straight years without a peep from cons. They only get upset when they think SOMEONE ELSE is not 'newsy' enough.

It's so pathetic to watch. Like convicted felons serving 20 years in prison for serious crimes all screaming as a group 'hey that guy littered in the yard, he's the worst criminal ever'!

You laugh at first, but then you are sad for them because you realize this tiny backwards unreality has now become their only reality.

When has Fox news threatened a 15 year old gay person? Have their producers admitted that the news is bullshit?

The modern American liberal is incapable of seeing people as complex, multi-faceted individuals. Your post is a good example of that.

Doxing is freedom of speech too.

What CNN did is a crime. Criminal News Network.
So, you also believe it was a crime when those Oregon bakers did that to the gay women wanting a wedding cake...

I believe you have entered the wrong thread. You see, this thread isn't about a wedding cake, but CNN blackmail.

You are free to start your own thread, but don't bring your ages old garbage here. The cases are completely different.
So it's a conditional bad thing to DOX, eh?

I would say what CNN did crossed an ethical line. Would you agree?

If not why would you side with a corporation using it's tremendous power against a sole individual?
:eusa_whistle:

CNN, the one and only Clearly not News Network has bottomed to a new low. After the big reveal that the network's officials don't believe the fake Russia rhetoric themselves, CNN has no choice, but to double down on the stupid.

Now they are threatening to dox a reddit user who created the brilliant gif, where Trump takes the network out for the benefit of anyone who values journalistic standards.

Multi-billion dollar company threatening a private citizen for making a gif, I can see why jihadists are their friends. Can't wait for this network to be history. Thank Trump...

Name the law broken by CNN.

Let's see...

A person is guilty of coercion in the second degree when he or she compels or induces a person to engage in conduct which the latter has a legal right to abstain from engaging in, or to abstain from engaging in conduct in which he or she has a legal right to engage, or compels or induces a person to join a group, organization or criminal enterprise which such latter person has a right to abstain from joining, by means of instilling in him or her a fear that, if the demand is not complied with, the actor or another will:
