They are semi. Full autos are only legal to buy if they where manufactured before 1986 and they are horrifyingly expensive. Also very inaccurate. I fired a three round burst M-16 in basic and was lucky to hit anything after the first round.

I can't speak for conservatives overall, but I personally believe that it should remain a state issue. That doesn't mean I approve of everything a given state does, however. It just means I support decentralization of authority as the Constitution dictates. If a state wants to legalize elective abortions up to birth, I still find that horrific, but I realize that it is foolish to get the federal government involved. By the same token, a state should be able to legalize heroin, but I still wouldn't support a policy like that.

We need checkpoints at all points of ingress to NYC where cars can be stopped and all vehicles and persons searched to avoid any and all weapons being allowed into the city. The cops can have their firearms removed also and everyone will be issued tasers.

We have that at the present time. You cannot enter NYC from New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Upper New York State unless you pay a toll. setting up inspections at each toll area would be simple.
