But one primary fact about this whole discussion is that the Democrat Party was created to keep slavery from being outlawed.
Yes there was a discussion about slaves during the creation of the electoral college, but it wasn't the only issue at hand. And the only reason slavery was an issue at all was because Democrats supported slavery.

So the entire debate about racism falls directly onto the party that created the issue in the first place.

• Delaware
• Georgia
• Maryland
• New Jersey
• New York
• North Carolina
• South Carolina
• Virginia
• Connecticut

Five out of those nine were exactly states where the people ate corn pone and whistled Dixie during breaks from beating their enslaved farmworkers.

Whenever a Democrat says "southerner" in the discussion of slavery, mentally substitute "Democrat" because that is who they are talking about.
