CNN Guest Host Claims The Electoral College Is Rooted In Slavery

Remember, kids. When judges rule your way, they are wise traditionalists.

When judges rule against you, they are "activist" judges.

Uhhh...you pretty much did. --

What you should have said was that the immorality was forcing them into slavery.

I think if you asked any slave, they would rather have their freedom than be included in the ******* Electoral College.
You're just mad because slaves were given some recognition as human beings.

America was 90% rural in the 1780s. This argument carries no weight at all.

What you really meant to say is that the Constitution was setup so that the least populous states would not be dominated by the most populous states.

And Virginia (a slave state) was always one of the most powerful colonies. 4 of the first 5 Presidents came from Virginia. It's very impressive that a Northerner like John Adams was ever elected President, having to compete against Virginia. It's a testament to Adams' abilities that he was able to overcome the Virginia Mafia and get elected President.
That's pretty much what I said, Alicia. The most populous States had the biggest cities. Aren't you glad that our forefathers had the foresight to know that people in big cities don't necessarily know what's best for the country? Thank god for the "fly over" States! We need them to balance out the dumpster fires that all of our Coastal Elite cities have become!

Illegal immigration is not immoral for one thing, unlike slavery. The vast majority of these people come here for a better life.

But it doesn't matter to me whether or not illegal immigrants are included in the EC.
Interesting. Would it bother you if those illegal immigrants were all conservatives?

Slavery has nothing to do with the Electoral College now.

You have to go waaaay out in the weeds to make any claims that it once had anything to do with it.

The simple fact that slaves were once counted in the census has jack-squat to do with our presidential elections.
The enemies of this country intend that everything be see through the lens of racism.

Milk is racist.

When you get down to milk is racist and math is racist

The very word racist has lost all meaning. It has become a verbal rash that needs scratching now and then.

No, that's not what I said.

Virginia was one of the most populated colonies/states in the 1780s. And it didn't have any large cities like Philadelphia or Boston or New York.

she totally ignores the fact that at the time this was passed several northern states had slaves as well
I'm not ignoring anything, you just don't know the facts. Slavery was on the way out in the North. In fact, many Northern delegates at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 wanted slavery to be permanently made illegal in the U.S.

Of course, the delegates from the Southern states threatened to walk out if that happened.
