Insane, sane, what difference does it make in an attack like this? Bad is bad. Not all insane people are violent, so insanity is no excuse. This guy may have been insane, but he also happened to be a violent racist. He deserves no pity and no special mental health treatment. He is garbage that should be thrown into a fire.

Here is the issue. You take people with psychological issues within the mind and body, you have them watch media that promotes racial division and blind hatred. You have them, perhaps (I obviously dont know for sure), surrounded by other people who also see the same hatred and regurgitate it in thought, speech or actions. Eventually the person with the psychological issues is going to act out their thoughts and conditioned hate.

The person with the psychological problems sees a vulnerable person who they have been told is their enemy, someone responsible for their plight, a person to hate for no other reason than their skin color.

He carried a knife for a reason. He expected to use it some day to someone. He found his target and unleashed his rage. This was pre-meditated it was all a matter of opportunity.
