Agree until "the federal government does not have the power to grant, or deny the right to an abortion"...the federal government doesn't need to grant the right to an abortion. It is implied as a non-enumerated right. You are correct the Constitution is a limiting document. It strictly outlines powers of the federal government, taxation, treaties etc. All other rights, enumerated or not, are reserved to the people.

UNTIL YOU READ THE 10TH AMENDMENT. They FEDERALIZED a minimum amount of power. MOST of those powers are retained by the states so that we have a country that CAN SURVIVE immense amounts of polarization and disagreement.

You STILL GET to be heard on abortion. But there would be no SupCt over-reach to CREATE an "non-enumerated" right. But that would be at a state level to decide.

Nobody wants to live in a state which is so PRO abortion, they border on infanticide. Just like nobody wants to live in state where even rape or incest or mother's health or fetal health are NO EXCUSE for an abortion.

THIS IS WHAT EXISTS NOW -- and nothing will change. The states ALREADY pro forma DECIDE the TERMS of getting an abortion!!!!!

Repeal the 17th amendment.
