Dear Siete That's like saying after all the investigations and contested arguments on 9/11 and the WMD/UN claims justifying the Iraq War, then this has been settled.

It depends who you ask.

Three issues that can still be established:
1. Agreement that Clinton was grossly negligent and careless in matters regarding national security.

2. Existence of ongoing risks that hostile countries and leaders have access to information and can use this to extort and/or cut deals with Clinton and anyone else seeking to coverup wrongdoings or acts of "negligence".

3. Poor judgment in using outside private communications, instead of using the federal govt provisions that are CLEARLY federal property under federal laws and carry that authority (where nobody can argue they were cracking into a private service and shift the blame onto Clinton for not using federal govt channels.)

4. Lack of responsibility on Clinton's part in trying to play this down instead of owning up to the seriousness of the consequences and risks.

Even if none of this were true problems or risks, the fact they CREATE THE APPEARANCE of security breaches and violation of public trust, that should be enough to flag and deter such decisions.

The fact that Clinton does NOT CARE about the serious appearance of breaches and fear of risks this imposes, in itself, shows a lack of understanding or willful ignorance of this FACTOR IN NATIONAL SECURITY AND UNITY.

That problem exists and continues REGARDLESS, and it is horrifying to think public officials don't take it seriously enough to address.

The emails were going to play out. There's nothing that will change minds. Now Bill meeting with Lynch .... mind boggling stupid. And that's the real story. Somebody needed to be there to tell Hill the email thing was a bad idea that was going to get worse. If she wanted a private blackberry to email sid blumenthall fine. And nobody was there to tell Bill that you can't sit down with the head of Justice while possible charges are pending against your wife.

The actual story is the Clintons don't even pretend to play by the same rules. The only thing keeping her afloat is that if anything, Donald is worse, and he's a uncivil cretin as well.

the Clintons, Obamas, and other Democrats "don't play by the same Rules" then fine, let's separate parties from govt and they can run their own operations by their own rules.

When the Lutheran movement invoked the authority directly through Scripture to disown Catholic authority to interpret that as the middle man, this started the Reformation movement that led to liberating churches from that corrupt centralized authority. Now people have a choice whether to be under it or not.

We need to do the same with political parties. Recognize them as political religions with their own elected leaders/reps "under their own rules and platforms."

And give taxpayers a choice of whether or not to fund this political belief or that one.
Instead of ramming these through govt by majority rule, which shouldn't apply to beliefs in the first place.

Let's call for a separate of creeds and political beliefs and religions from govt,
and set up means by which people can fund the representation and programs that match their beliefs, and be liberated from coercion into funding people or programs we don't believe in.

Where we agree, then we can call that secular centralized govt. But if we disagree religiously because of conflicting beliefs, that must remain separate.

Emily, the gop doesn't play be the same rules either. And this country was originally founded on the notion that only white, property owning, and in many cases that involved slaves, men could vote. Andrew Jackson was the image of a growing meritocracy, and he was a murdering slaveowner who committed genocide against a peaceful assimilated Indian tribe. Teddy Roosevelt took the meritocracy mantle, but he was an elitist with sociopathic tendencies himself.

There is little morality or even law in American politics. But what separates us from govts that existed when we sprang up is a general acceptance of separation of powers, peaceful transfer of governing parties and, until recently, a realization that compromise was necessary if govt was going to function to actually solve anything.

In the case of Allen West, when he was reprimanded for violating rules, he resigned. So if he was reprimanded when his contested actions SAVED lives of US troops, shouldn't Clinton be reprimanded if her security breaches either endangered or cost lives or both? What lives if any were saved by those decisions to warrant any compelling need to bypass procedures? At least West can explain why he did what he did (in shooting a gun during an interrogation to compel information that saved troops from a planned attack) and argue that this tactic was successful in saving lives while costing none, except maybe his job. What is Clinton's justififation and why isn't that held to at least the same scrutiny as West had to face for his actions?
