"Climate Justice" Rears Its Ugly Head

More than 230 organizations, including Africa Action and Oxfam, want industrialized countries to pay "reparations" to African governments for droughts, rising sea levels and other alleged results of what Ugandan strongman Yoweri Museveni calls "climate aggression." And I oppose the campaign even more for trying to deny to Africans the reliable electricity—and thus the economic development and extended years of life

Climate aggression?

And WTF? Less than 25 percent have electricity and people want to block them getting power? I know coal is not that great but you want to block it, then get you ass in there and start building enough solar panels to power just as many homes as the coal plant would.

In 2010 the left tried to block a World Bank loan for a new coal-fired plant in South Africa. Fortunately, the loan was approved (with the U.S. abstaining). The drive to provide electricity for the poor has been perhaps the greatest achievement of South Africa's post-apartheid governments.

Flippin ridiculous anyone has thinks they have the right to meddle in people getting power in a third would country.

"liberals dont want africans to have lights"

That is how seriously silly the right has become about climate change. We dont want Africans to read at night.

*facepalm*

Why did the US abstain from voting in protest under Obama? IOW- no power plant for Africa.

World Bank's $3.75bn coal plant loan defies environment criticism | Environment | The Guardian

Why the hell does any other country have the right to get pissy with Africa because they want to better themselves? This country has had nothing but strife, pain and misery. Let them have a power plant. Or the nations who abstained from the vote should loan an amount which would be enough to buy solar panels then, powering as many houses as the colar plant would. . Instead they just showed they can bully and refused to vote to help them.

The Answer to this kind of sick manipulation by the Left is quite simple, given to U.S. 50 years ago by Dr. ML King.

Just completely stop allowing any kind of differential treatment, whether it is claimed to be for or against, based on Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Creed, Religion etc.

If it were not for the example of ALLOWED Racial Differential Treatment shown in Affirmative Action, there would not be any attempt to do this kind of Manipulation.

We would have an established policy of helping ALL nations achieve the same goals of clean industrialization and modernity.

What ever the American Liberal Elite tried to foist off on Africa would also come back to their Elite Estates in the Hamptons.

If you want TRUE JUSTICE, simply get rid of the double standards!

Where was the 3.75 Billion coming from? And because there is always different ways of doing things. You are under the belief that this is the best way. Why? Because it was shot down and that is the ONLY reason

This country has had nothing but strife, pain and misery. Let them have a power plant.

Appeal to emotions is not a reason why this is the best idea.

So they should just give their money because you want them too and not have any input on it? Since when did investments work like that?
