Climate scientists have been warning us for years that climate change from greenhouse gases will cause catastrophic flooding. Research suggests that atmospheric rivers are getting bigger, more frequent and more extreme, due to climate change; and the damage they cause is getting worse.

Per the "Global Warming Mindset",.... "Greenhouse Gases" are responsible for this so called "Global Warming". Those "Gases" are alleged to be a by product of "Fossil Fuels", as well as By products resulting from Industrial Processing, and the usage of "Refrigerants", such as R12, R22, & R502 .

Somehow, the ranting & raving against these "Gases, By-products, & Refrigerants", caused many so called "Conservative American Leaders", to vote for the Restriction, & Manufacturing of the aforementioned "Gases, etc.". Those "Restrictions" were a part of, but not the only cause of American Manufacturing moving overseas!
Ponder on how it is possible, that Red China, is building Coal Fired Power Plants, & is heavily producing many of the so called "Gases, By-products, & Refrigerants", while it also Mass Producing for Europe, England, & America, Solar Panels, Wind Mills, & Products embraced by those who are Zealous for the "Global Warming Mindset".

Either there's more severe weather or there's not ... whaddya mean "suggests" ... as a proxy, we can use hurricane data ... this information is widely available, easily confirmed, and some rather easy arithmetic to calculate our averages ... and you'll see there's no increase in frequency or intensity ... none at all during the Satellite Era ...

Because they do not want to admit that the CO2 emissions of China are in excess of 35 million tons per day and rising, and the CO2 emissions of the US are actually falling (and have been for over two decades).

And the hucksters always demand that we only look at "per capita", as it masks the facts.

I honestly wonder how many could survive even if they have a fireplace and are told they will have to spend the next year without electricity.

It often shocks people that neither I nor my parents owned a car with air conditioning until the late 1980s. And I never lived in a house with air conditioning until 1987. Not that I was poor, it simply was not considered as "essential" back then. And for many years in the 1990s and 2010s I lived near Baghdad by the Bay, where AC was simply not needed. When your average temperature is between 70-75f, what do you need AC for?

I have never been one to dismiss "renewable energy". But I also recognize that with the exception of hydroelectricity none of the others can be relied upon to provide the power needed, and they should be little more than "gap" sources. Especially when at times like storms, wind and solar will most likely be providing almost no power.

I have had to spend days in sub-zero temperatures with a power grid offline. It is no fun at all, and that was in SW Texas.

Another BIG advantage of fossil fuel is it's quick start-up time ... my understanding is a natural gas plant can sit idle for days or weeks and only kick in when the demand is there ... can't do that with nuclear or the others ...

It's a math question ... either roof top solar pays for itself, or it doesn't ... let dollars be your guide ...

pretty sure nature was the cause and the fact they could not look up the weather beforehand, that's human error

Reiny,..... I've seen Severe Thunderstorms Predicted for My Area, where the Local Forecasters were urging people to take shelter, & withing two hours those storms split & went North & South, or they Dissipated.

I've experienced where No Tornado Watch was issued, & yet a Tornado touched down in the lil hick town near me, & it stayed on the ground for at least 4 miles.

I've seen where no rain was forecast, and I scheduled my work for outside, & then We'd get "Flooded Out" on a job.

I could go on, & on about how drastically the Weather Reports were off, over many, many years, but I'm not going to.

And,... The Actual Temperature here is 15 degrees, not 18 degrees as reported by the National Weather Service.

And that Bitterly cold forecast was amended/added to by extending the days since 5am this morning.

And, I'm Good with the Weather Applications, that I use for my work, & personal needs such as the NWS, NOAA, & many many more.
