They only put a statement on the web the President cannot ratify a treaty so it’s not binding without them. If W tried to restrict Democratic Senators from stating their view, Dante would be squealing like a stuck pig about their Constitutional right to free speech

3) Treaty Ratification: Senators are even part of this process, the Constitution specifically gives them the power of advice and consent. They are actually a named party in the treaty process. Where does the Constitution say they have to STFU until the treaty is signed and sent to them for ratification?

On a side note, I’d love Democrats to go for this or something similar. But here’s why I’d like to see it happen. There has been a line neither of you have been willing to cross.
