Just how ******* insane are you? Who was the last president to lower the debt? The debt always goes up and if I'm not mistaken, it's gone up under every single president. A potential deadbeat is someone, or some entity, that spends way too much, and will eventually reach the point where that someone, or some entity, can no longer pay the bills.

The United States of America is in dangerous territory with its out of control spending and huge national debt. Raising the debt ceiling is the proper time to consider where we are going with our spending, and what restrictions we need to add to reduce the increase in our national debt.

Your leadership does not want to have that discussion, and therefore, hands out propaganda to its following that portrays having that discussion as some sort of failure to properly govern.

Imbecile ... you're talking about people who don't want to work. Just because there are people choosing to be on welfare or disability rather than work, doesn't mean the economy isn't moving forward.

There are about 6.1 million people not in the workforce who want a job now. The other 86 million don't want a job. That's a whopping 400K more than when Obama became president. And yes, the economy is flowing. We are currently in the 47th month of a streak of consecutive job growth in the private sector. The DJIA is a 16K, NASDAQ at 4200, and S&P500 at 1800. GDP is over 3%.

The reason I posted that was because some rightard challenged me to find a Democrat who held Bush's feet to the fire over Bush's budget deficits.

So yes, that qualifies that rightard as brain-dead since he apparently was unaware that, as I said earlier, nothing has changed in regard to the debt except the parties have swapped on the issue.
