Desolate in Winter? All the better. Nothing like being out at Gills Rock when you feel so remote from everything and only a thin sliver of land connects you back to safety while an ice clogged lake michigan churns around you. Sister Bay is a better town honestly. Sturgeon Bay is more typical of a Wisconsin city while still being in Door County.

Of course, I forgot... Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
