Will Son of God bring people back to churches? You can see the trailer @ 'Son of God': Church Leaders Buying Out Theaters For Screenings - The Hollywood Reporter

So, what's going on. There's one movement where groups of Catholics select one specific church to flood with as many worshipers as they can get – often more than a thousand showing up. The Bible on the History Channel averaged 11.4 million viewers and is the top-selling miniseries DVD of all time. Is this some kind of revival? And, what part does Pope Francis have on this? He's immensely popular and his approach seems to get to people's hearts.

Was impressed with "The Bible" on THC...heh. Watched it up to you know who. :)

Is a whole slew of religious movies coming out soon. Not unexpected with modern CGI enabling depiction of things that'd have looked hokey in the not-so-distant past.

We are having a new Great Awakening.

There appears to be a trend towards building megachurches. There's one here in the Las Vegas area called Lincoln Christian University. If one drives by on a Sunday there are a least 500 or more cars in the parking lot - they even provide shuttles to carry people to the doors.

No, this is the desperation of "the chosen".

That comes under the category of misery loves company. Yes there are large numbers of religious people, but they aren't growing. Modern knowledge is slowly eating away at their periphery.
