Somehow I don't think that's true.

I know we have some pretty savvy military people here.... can someone comment on this please?
Is it possibly true?

So basically what you're saying is if the statement was true of these countries would not be putting all this money into the development of these aircraft.

In about the time it takes WhiskeyLeaks to down another shot.

So you think it's true? I'm asking because I'm really not that knowledgeable about military aviation....but if it is true it's something to be very concerned about.

I was just surprised that so many countries had 5th generation fighters.

Like so many times previously… when a country like Russia or China claim to be developing a state of the art capability, the system that is ultimately deployed is anything but.

I have no doubt that history will continue to repeat itself.

How does the drone track the aircraft without active radar and how does it find a stealth aircraft?

Yeah it seems a bit far-fetched. I don't know whether or not it's true I simply don't know enough about military aviation. I'm leaning in favor of it being propagandistic BS. But then again I am no expert.

Part of the stealth technology's advantage is that the aircraft is basically invisible. You can't kill it if you can't find it.

Looks like the DOD upgrades fighters before the ink is dry on the wiki pages. F-22s were it until they got bumped by the F-35. F35s were supposed to run to 2070. But they are getting eclipsed by the new F-47 starting (supposedly) in 2029.

The U.S. plans to buy 2,456 F-35s through 2044, which will represent the bulk of the crewed tactical aviation of the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps for several decades; the aircraft is planned to be a cornerstone of NATO and U.S.-allied air power and to operate to 2070

Two engines, last one delivered in 2012, replaced the F-15

The details about the F-47's design remain classified. The air superiority fighter jet will have "significantly longer range, more advanced stealth, be more sustainable, supportable, and have higher availability than our fifth-generation fighters" — that is, the F-22 and F-35. Allvin also said it would "cost less" than the F-22, be acquired in larger numbers, be "more adaptable to future threats," and "will take significantly less manpower and infrastructure to deploy." It is anticipated to have a top speed around Mach 2 and to operate with drone swarms.

Have to somewhat large drone to carry the needed sensors

Who told you, that the drones don't have active radars? Say, WZ-9 has pretty good ones, optimised specifically to detect F-35 and F-22.

Several eminent pundits now openly conjecture that the Hooty Tooty Boys have access to drones that can chase Fighter planes .
Whether they are building them in their own underground bases is unknown -- at least I am unaware of anything on this .

The problem is that even the most advanced radar cannot distinguish between a stealth fighter/bomber and a large bird. It is usually only after payload has been delivered before the plane can be detected and then only briefly.

This is a case of, If you put enough of them into the air at the same time, chances are, a passing F-35 might run into one.

If you use your radar against either the F-35 or the F-22, they can elect to send a feedback signal that fries your radar completely. There is talk that the F-15EX may also have that system installed.

You can't fire on what you can't see. And if you think the F-35 is a pushover, the enemies ability to sense them is far shorter than the amraams that the F-35 packs.

Drones are redefining warfare.
I know they are very effective against tanks and ground defenses.
They are also a nightmare for helicopters.

I don’t know how they would engage an F35 unless it is making a ground attack

The second the drone turns on it's radar, the F-35 will know it's there long before the F-35 gets into range that the drone can lock on and launch. The range of the drone detection will be far shorter than the range of the Amraam fired from the F-35.

The only reason the Russian bird was bagged was out of shear sloppy procedure.
