A Chinese airline taking delivery of a Boeing jet could be crippled by the tariffs, given that a new 737 MAX has a market value of around $55m, according to IBA, an aviation consultancy. Beijing is reportedly considering ways to support airlines that lease Boeing jets and are facing higher costs.

So much winning going on. The figures in the article are quite scary. China has other options of course. Like when they won the soybean war.

Should the govt now step in and support the likes of boeing during this difficult time ? I think so.

Boeing gets enough U.S. government funding already and it has been that way for as long as I remember. Heck, the Europeans saw that funding as an unfair trade practice putting them at a disadvantage back when they were attempting to get Airbus off the ground.

Airbus shares are likely to go up. Thanks Donny.

No, they're not sending the planes back because of the cost of tariffs. They're sending the planes back as a "fuck you" to the US.

The Chinese govt does NOT have to put tariffs on these planes. Also, the planes were already delivered and did not have any new tariffs on them.

Its tariff related. China doesnt have to play nice.

I think you will have a fleet by the end of the month.
Doubtful...there's a waiting list for delivery of new planes.

There's a waiting list for Airbus as well.

Guess China is SOL when it comes to new commercial airliner replacement for the foreseeable future.

There's a 10 YEAR waiting list.

Back to old drawing board Tommy.

The Acme 737 Max return strategy is a bust.
