This despite draconian lockdowns.

China is likely seeing over a million COVID cases and 5,000 deaths a day, report says. But Beijing's official data is showing 7 deaths so far this week.

  • China is likely seeing over 1 million infections and 5,000 deaths a day from COVID-19, per Airfinity data.
  • China has officially reported 14,285 cases and just seven deaths so far this week.
  • Beijing has also changed the way it records COVID-19 deaths, which may cause the low official count.
More than 5,000 people are likely dying from COVID-19 in China each day — in stark contrast to Beijing's official count of just seven deaths in the past week, according to Airfinity, a health data company.

It's very interesting to note, that this apparently is occurring even after all of their lockdowns. Sure doesn't say a lot for taking such measures, does it?

This despite draconian lockdowns.

They have now been lifted .
Which makes this latest move almost impossible to interpret .

Until the lock down was lifted, China appeared to be acting absurdly /inhumanly unless they were combatting fresh mutations which people outside of the country had yet to encounter .
That is , unless insane, you do not have armed troops and volunteers ensuring that people stay inside upon literal pain of death for disobeying .And then shoot those who refuse to obey orders . All for no astonishingly good reason .

But in almost a twinkle these draconian measures have been relaxed and/or dropped ..
On what logic?

Has the CCP realised and recognised that latest Omicron mutations are more infective but much less virulent and only equivalent to mild flu?
Which means that the brutal lock down was not only inhuman but inefficient -- all of the losses swamped the notional benefits of the strategy .
The next chapter is awaited.
