The Prison-Industrial Complex is self-defeating. If prisons were the answer, we'd have the lowest crime rates in the free world, not the highest.

Most other industrialized democracies lock up less than 100,000 people. We lock up nearly 2 million with another 7 million on probation or parole.

Mabye we need to look at what we are doing right instead of doubling and tripling down on what we are doing wrong.
