They start taking down the statue later today.
It will go into storage until the city can decide who gets it. There have been requests for the statue some out of the state and some in the state.
Thank goodness that statue and the one of stonewall jackson are coming down.
It is long overdue. The statues never should have been erected in the first place.
Statues did not initiate the violence that occurred in Charlottesville.
For the 'goldfish' with short-term memories, the leader of Antifa, whose domestic terrorists showed up wearing body armor / protection and weapons, gave an interview after the violence there and bragged on came how they showed up withthe full intent to initiate violence and that this is what they did.
White Supremacists had legally acquired a permit to peacefully assemble and had gathered in Charlottesville to for their event. They had coordinated with local police and officials and had the legal right to do so.
The United States Constitution gives EVERY American the right to peacefully assemble and the right of free speech, no matter if you disagree with what they have to say.
Antifa intentionally showed up with the plan to illegally attack the White Supremacists IOT deny them their legal rights to assemble and of free speech - again, they BRAGGED about this on camera.
Antifa had NOT coordinated with the local police or officials, Antifa did NOT have any permit to assemble or protest.
Antifa initiated the violence by attacking the White Supremacists.
While I completely disagree with what the White Supremacists stand for or have to say, but I have spent over 34 years defending and upholding the Constitution and fighting for EVERYONE's Constitutional Rights.
No statue broke the law.
No statue threw the 1st punch or threw bottles/jugs of urine on anyone.
No statue bragged about initiating violence in Charlottesville.
That was ANTIFA.
