FDR's corpse was barely cold before democrats pushed a bill through the Truman administration and democrat majority in congress that placed the image of a president on an American coin (the dime) in 1946. Now that we seem to be in the business of taking down political icons, it might be time to consider the feelings of Japanese Americans and Americans in general who are insulted by an American coin with the image of a president who issued an executive order to round up American citizens who had committed no crime and place them in concentration camps for the duration of the War. It seems their real estate assets were sold off at discount prices to FDR supporters in California as a payback for political support. The former KKK member that FDR appointed to the Court paid him back by writing the majority opinion that justified the incarceration of American citizens without due process but it only adds more insult to the issue. In recent years the U.S. altered the appearance of the penny, the nickel and the quarter and pretty much eliminated the half dollar and the dollar coin but they didn't fool with the dime for some reason. Now it's time.

Sounds important bro

Word. We should go back to the Mercury dime. At least having the god of trickery and thieves on the coin represented the federal reserve system well.

FDR reinstituted slavery and forced more Americans into slavery than anyone in history.

FDR got 400,000 Americans killed.

FDR was by far the worst president in U.S. history.

There are lots of reasons to be critical of the FDR administration but E.O. 9066 stands out as the most flagrant example of government abuse since the Civil War and Reconstruction.

Many countries use images of something that represent their country, instead of a political figurehead.

Things are changing a little with the coinage, but then again, physical money is going out of vogue
