Censorship, Not Deepfakes, is the Real Threat

Censorship, Not Deepfakes, is the Real Threat | Frontpage Mag
Jul 05, 2019 · Censorship, not deepfakes, is the real threat. The last time fake materials were used in an attempt to change the outcome of a presidential election, the perpetrator was CBS News which tried to pass off documents produced in Microsoft Word as being from the Vietnam War in order to prevent President George W. Bush from being reelected. Photoshopped pictures and memes have become the most common form of political cartoon. History tells us that if deepfakes become a political threat, the perpetrators will be the media.
the best antidote to them isn’t government, media or dot com censorship. It’s the piercing light of public scrutiny. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and for it to shine, the shadow of Congress, Google and the International Fact Checking Network can’t be allowed to blot out the light of public debate. The deepfake that poses a threat to a presidential election won’t come out of an obscure forum. It will be broadcast by the media which will mobilize experts to defend its legitimacy and employ its fact checkers to suppress dissenting material on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. The suppression will be backed by the legislation and threats put forward by Rep. Schiff about suppressing “disinformation”. We’re Americans and we know that the best defense against fake news, lies, hoaxes and scams is not a government agency, a dot com monopoly or a media monopoly. Those are the ways we get fake news, lies, hoaxes and scams that cannot be challenged because anyone who speaks out is swiftly silenced. The only way to prevent an actual deepfake election hijacking is by keeping speech on the internet free.

Talk about censorship ... I couldn’t believe the NON coverage of the 4th of July celebrations. Only Right News handled all of it (and beautifully!). Don't be surprised when the New York Times publishes the infamous and not existing but "recently found" "p-video" of Trump, claiming that the story has been corroborated!
Censorship is the real threat, and the endgame of the globalists. Discernment is also a spiritual issue, one that is being suppressed as well. It worked well for Stalin and his Marxist Socialist regime for decades.
With the Entertainment Industry, Academics, and the 'News' Media all being controlled by our Marxist Socialist Communist Left, we are being constantly bombarded by their propaganda. Fake news, fake facts, fake stories, fake photos are just some of the obstacles conservatives must contend with on a daily basis.
Want to know who NOT to trust? Don't watch or listen to any of the Media who refused to broadcast our Nations Fourth of July from the Lincoln Memorial.

Trump's 4th of July taxpayer funded election rally was a failure. Maybe he should have bought airtime if he wanted to be on the legitimate networks.

Deep fakes are one of the excuses the leftists are trotting out as an excuse for censorship. This is orwellian. They know they lost in 2016 because they lost control of the agenda. Americans ignored the media/hollywood/press attacks on Trump and spoke to each other.
The censorship is much more thorough than you know. For instance did you know about the ANTIFA-Democrat-ISIS links? No? Twitter and Facebook...colluding...will both block any attempt to share the story. Google has an algorithm that sends searches for the story to leftist propaganda sites.

These people are desperate. And its time to destroy them.

Depends on your point of view. For leftists I am sure it feels like a failure. And, to rub salt in the wound, there isnt a thing you can do about it. Nothing. Next years will be better.

Au contraire, it was highly successful in honoring the Armed Forces, and on a side note, in making you people look like the blithering demented fools you are.

My point of view is that Trump attempted a big glorious patriotic spectacle with himself as the center of it all. Think Mussolini. Thankfully most Americans still find such authoritarian symbolism distasteful. Not going to be the last time Trump attempts to make the American people pay for his campaign.

Trump has made it public knowledge that he wants big military parades where they march past him like they do in other parts of world, mostly the parts ruled by strongman dictators. Honoring the military is one thing but Trump wants the military to honor him with an expensive useless ego trip.

What a puerile rant. "Big military parades" were widely de riguer on patriotic holidays in the United States until Vietnam, when you people got busy spitting on the troops.

Trump is no dictator, nor does he desire to become one.

Your thought patterns indicate a stunting of cognitive ability originating in early childhood.

Sorry guy, the military spectacle went out of fashion after WW2 when we all saw the Nazis doing it practically non-stop in their propaganda. These days it's still the same thing. We see places like Russia and NKorea having weapon parades while dear leader gets to watch it all and revel in his power. America does not need that kind of silly militaristic propaganda and a president should never be allowed to command the military to perform for his amusement.
