I remember as a kid having a Marx Bros. train set under the tree and one part of the track went through a tunnel. We had a big white cat and he was watching the train. So the train came around and headed into the tunnel (which was a Styrofoam thing pained to look like a mountain about 2 feet long).

As the train headed in, the cat stuck his head in the other end to see where the train went and ran head-to-head into a collision with the train! (which was a big steam-powered locomotive puffing smoke with a headlight whose each car was like 6-inches long), and immediately, the cat leaped up in horror and surprise as this train ran face-first into him puffing and choo-ing, taking the train engine and mountain with him as he leaped into the air, collided with the underside of the tree and everything and tore out of there in horror.

Every kid deserves at least one pet cat or dog growing up during Christmas.

Actually, the orange tabby is just flattered and tickled pink that you've finally realized his central role in the household and have relented to even taking his picture now so as to immortalize the event.

Besides, the sun on his belly kinda felt good...

Rulers must be happy and warm, you know.

The cat thinks its owner can't retract its claws and shows her how to do it.

Don't some cats act just like that? I mean, a dog acts eternally grateful that you are even giving him the time of day, he is grateful for your spit, but not a cat--- the cat mind concludes that for having such a great home, warm, comfortable, loving, full of good food and treats, that he must be something pretty damn freaking special, damn good looking and important, and just an all-around general great guy to have and you better not ever forget it.

(When I was a kid, the family went on vacation for a week and we left the cat we had with an aunt. When we finally got back home with the cat a week later, he sat at the bottom of the driveway threatening us like he was going to run away. You could see him sitting there looking up and down the street trying to figure out where he had been. Maybe there was a better house down the road somewhere.)
