This ad about job outsourcing to China killed Fiorina’s campaign for Senate
If they used this ad to defeat Fiorina in California, if she made it to the nomination no doubt they would use it again. If she runs against Hillary she might be effective but still she would have to defend getting a $40 million severance package when she fired over 10,000 people. We shall see!

I have been watching CNN for the last 45 minutes--they can't stop talking about Carly Fiorina. Focus groups from FOX news changed from Donald Trump to Carly Fiorina. CNN focus groups--she hit a home run--everyone of them now support Fiorina. Even the 3 political heads on CNN ALL agree that she won the debate they keep showing clips over and over again.

Some are even comparing her to Ronald Reagan. She came prepared--she had substance and even policy that the others didn't bring.

Bernie Goldberg told Bill O'Reilly--if the media would had given her 1/2 the time they've given Donald Trump she would be NUMBER ONE.

According to fact checkers the portion of the video she described was not the creators of the documentaries or producers footage of an event that took place at PP, but rather a clip from another source that was edited into the documentary.

I am not covering for anyone, least of all Panned Parenthood. Carly is running for President. Her business critics claim she does not use advisers and makes all kinds of mistakes because she has a huge ego and refuses to adapt and adjust when she stubbornly gets an idea in her head. That is exactly what has happened in this case. She is swearing she saw something in the PP video and what she saw appears to have been something from a different source. The trait that has been pointed out by her business critics is showing up in her campaign. It is an unacceptable trait for a President or even someone campaigning for President. She injected false information into a Presidential debate in front of 25 million people because of her stubbornness and poor preparation. Now she is showing a lack of character by refusing to admit her mistake.

The OP has some good points. Nearly every major corporation went through a turbulent period at some point or another. The CEO of the greatest corporations on earth had layoffs that were no more (or less) their fault than it would be for Carly Fiorina.

It's not the same by any stretch but think about it as warfare. The only generals that never lost a man in combat are the ones with little or no combat experience. The only CEO's that never laid off anyone (call it what you want--right sizing; down sizing, re-organization, etc..) are ones with precious little experience, no experience, or happen to be in a sector that has had nothing but growth thus far and their day is coming.

That having been said; I'm sorry but your first job in Government cannot be President of the United States. Would you, under any circumstances bring in Norman Schwarzkopf--an accomplished General to be sure--to run Microsoft or Tommy Franks to run Starbucks? Would you want Balmer or Schmidt to run the First Armored division or the Southern Command?

There are basically two types of CEO's. Ones that have been "fired" and ones that will be "fired". I'm sure she made mistakes. Show me a CEO that hasn't. Consumer goods once included a McDLT:

All of these products went through the CEO's office. The only one still around is the WNBA and it only exists in the public consciousness because the NBA forces networks to air the games as part of the NBA package.

Anyway, the point is that CEOs screw up all the time. Is Carly one of them? Sure. With 20/20 hindsight, anyone can point out what she should have done differently. And I'll point out that the current front-runner of the GOP filed bankruptcy four times himself. So business acumen isn't apparently a factor.

As for the golden parachute...yeah; she's the ONLY ONE who ever walked away from a CEO slot with mega bucks.
