"Career public servants": THE PARTY IS OVER

Government employees hace cushy jobs and very little responsibility.
As a lifelong Washington DC Area resident, this is a valid stereotype. Many not all Fed jobs fall into this category.

The bottom line is the rest of the country work in the real world where they are subject to performance reviews and justifying their jobs to their employers regularly. These Americans go to sleep at night always worried on some level about job security. Americans who run their own business go yo bed thinking how they are going to make payroll.

How and why then is it so cruel to hold public servants accountable with weekly reports? I have to do them

is it?.....do the workers in govt jobs get treated better than any other workers?...if you say yes then you have never worked for the govt.....
I’ve worked for the government - before the days of the internet, so everyone had to show up in the office. Everyone showed up around 30 minutes late*, goofed off much of the day since the office was so overstaffed, and took a minimum of 90 minutes for lunch. This was not only tolerated, but expected.

There was no true performance review, and mediocrity was encouraged. The only time I enjoyed work was the ONE week when my counterpart went on vacation, and I had to do her job and mine both - and thus I put in a full day,

I quit after one year. Couldn’t stand all the non-productivity and lack of reward for hard workers.

* That was because the department chief showed up one hour late, so staff wanted to beat him in. He also left by 4:30 every day, He was a GS-15, who showed up at 9:30, went to lunch from noon to 2 or 2:30, and then left at 4:30. Every single day.

That is an ignorant and erroneous observation which betrays your simpleton parroting of conservative talking points.

Vast numbers of Federal career employees manned-the-trenches in healthcare and related support during the pandemic.

Even if one is intent on flushing the garbage out of the civil service those who remain are hard-working and deserve respect.

Hilarious.

When I worked for the Government, I had to do that every week.

It went into the Weekly Activity Report that went to Command Level
For starters over half of the Federal Workers have top secret clearance...
I presume they don't answer this..

Also how is Musk going to shift threw this? Only possible way is AI.. So may suggestion is to anyone answering this...
Put the words these words in your answer:
  • cost cutting
  • anti-DEI
  • immigration
  • bird flu
  • Air traffic
You get the drift... No one is going to read it... it will be pumped into an AI engine and it will spit out the answers...
I know, this is really stupid as your best guys are usually your most humble.

Good Luck

what point is that?.....if you work 30+ years you can retire at 62?...
If you live below your means and are smart you can retire well before 62. But you have to forego things "now" in order to have more "later". Most people simply can't do it.
