No one being told what to say. The captain and the crew were responsible for the safe operation of the vessel. It lost power, simple as that.

The crew was checked for injuries after the ship hit the bridge. Only one crew member had a few scratches, nothing serious at all. They wanted and decided to stay on the ship. They have also been fully cooperating with the investigation (along with the ship's owner).
