Capitalism responds to the crisis

Face mask supplier 'charging hospitals $7 for 58-cent masks' as coronavirus crisis escalates

$7 for a 58 cent mask.!! Are there no laws protecting the public from this sort of abuse ?

Kinda reminds you of the stories about hospitals charging $9 for an aspirin. We need our entire health system reformed and after this it's going to be harder and harder for anyone to argue against that.

Just think if we had spent the last 17 years on health care as opposed to completely useless wasteful wars.

Assuming the unverified story is true, its a flaw of human nature not capitalism
Precisely, and that is the very "flaw" in capitalism, why it is not a solution, merely an approach, one of a variety of ways we might do things..

So you have a system of industry and government that will supersede human nature? Oh do tell

Humans are why theories are just that but how is this not an example of "supply and demand"?
It may be another example of fake news by the marxist news media

I cant comment more until we know for sure that it did happen as claimed

after that lets hear the other side of the story before condemning to entire capitalist system

We've had many examples.

Purdue Pharma offers $10-12B to settle 2,000+ opioid lawsuits

An example of no concern for anything but unmitigated greed. But that is capitalism, right?

Thats a typical low quality lib news story

how did the company misrepresent its product?

Capitalism like all things are subject to human flaws -- but with capitalism, that human flaw of narcissistic greed tends to be the fuel of choice for most large corporations...

Just ask the families of dead passengers on those fancy new Boeing 737 MAX jets....which is why simply saying "let the free markets decide" is not always the answer...

So it never happened?

Deposition: Sackler embraced plan to conceal OxyContin’s strength - STAT

He is on record right up until the lawsuits claiming that opioids weren't addictive.

But greed is good, right?

In never-before-seen video, Richard Sackler defends Purdue - STAT

Not that you will listen to the testimony.

And now we will bail them out despite no one being held accountable.
