Capitalism and extreme poverty

We're past knowing that America's brand of capitalism has failed!

Now it's time to acknowledge it, and then start to talk about how and why the mistakes were made and why society is being threatened by the people that have been downtrodden.

Unfortunately, it means facing the racism problem head-on before anything else can be addressed.
what we have here now isnt capitalism its cronyism,,

Yes, it can be said that greedy capitalism has become cronyism.

A change of a president is not going to become a challenge to the system that is the American way.

It's still seen as the way forward to success by far too many. Biden has accomplished near miracles by bringing false hope or cronyism in your language.

People just have to stop buying every new shiny object that comes on the market and we'll do just fine.

Regarding racism we need stop talking about it, like Morgan Freeman suggests. If we ignore it, it will die from lack of attention.

The dream of every capitalist is to merge with the state, thereby obtaining ironclad protection and a guarantee of profits.
That is their real secret to success. And to sucker competitors, they will let the idea of an Atlas that shragged in a garage, with credits and recycling - so that they can enrich them with more enthusiasm.

Are you talking about utopian "free market" capitalism that NEVER existed? It has ALWAYS been cronyismic.
Capitalism is such that no matter who you are, there is always the threat of losing everything at once - status, job, connections, family, housing. It is enough to "go the wrong way" and "get caught in the crossfire. This makes people parrot everything that benefits business and government, lying to themselves for years.

I am talking about reality and not what some college prof. told me,,

and other than restrictions from the government to help their cronies I have been running my business for 30 yrs in the free market system,,,

you just need to get out more,,

Capitalism creates income and wealth for anyone who plugs into it. However, most are content as consumers of the products of capitalism.

What was the poverty rate in China under communism?
What is the poverty rate in China under capitalism?
China still considers itself a communist country, albeit one that chose a different path. The name of the single party is quite vocal about this "Communist Party of China".
But, in order to clarify this murky topic:
-Under pure capitalism the government limits itself to approve and enact the law, and the private sector runs all economic activities.
-Under pure communism all means of production are collective, usually through state owned enterprises.
The only two countries at the extreme of "communism" are Cuba and North Korea.
The rest of the countries are at some point in the middle. The US has a federal road system ( in some countries roads are privately owned) and has public schooling and some forms of social welfare ( medicare and medicaid, food stamps programs, unemployment programs).
In China 60% of jobs are provided by the public sector ( either in the government or state-owned enterprises), and produce 40% of the GDP.

At least the poor in a capitalist country can get out of poverty by working harder.
Not so in a communist country. I cant remember where this quote came from originally but I heard from the Cubans "We pretend to work because they pretend to pay us"
No doubt said today by the Cubans and many others today but it originated as a joke in the old Soviet Union.

Quite true!
But with the world's growing population, the 'wants' needs to be modified downwards. Even America lacks the wealth to fulfill 330 million people's wants.

The difference is that China is fulfilling the wants of hundreds of millions of it's people to the best of it's ability, while America is still holding to the opposite course.

Hence, the breakdown of society is being seen in the streets, by the oppressed.

I think that if Biden won't give up on the corrupt system of government graft, all his efforts will fail to reach the hands of those who are going to cause the trouble for the system of greedy capitalism.

Well why dont you move to china?

A huge part of our economy is about providing unnecessary stuff. It is those businesses that are most affected by economic downturns.

As long as there are jobs there is hope for anyone willing to work.

"De-dollarization is real and happening fast."

The dollar's share of world trade has fallen from 73% (2001) to 55% in (2020).
The collapse from 55% to 47% since sanctions were imposed on Russia, and de-dollarization is now happening 10 times faster than it did in the previous two decades."

On June 2-3, the BRICS bloc will meet in Cape Town to discuss expansion, Bloomberg reported, citing South African Ambassador Anil Suklal.
According to the ambassador, thirteen countries have formally submitted a request to join, while another six have done so unofficially.
