As far as I am concerned, Canada is much more corrupt, racist and sexist than the United States, it is just Canada is a lesser known small country that doesn’t get a lot of press thus can hide their corruption easier. Not to demean Canada but on the world scene they have little impact on the world. The makes it easier for Canada to criticize because in the world scene no one cares.

Do research on our prisons and the way we treat citizens, the corruption in the courts and government. It is genuinely Soviet level abuses. In some cases, in the enforcement of a caste, spanning decades across someones life.

My daughter has a friend like that. She hates the government. She has also failed at everything she's done her entire life, and it's always someone else's fault. I have no patience for complainers like her.

Success and complaining about the government are not necessarily connected. I know people who have done just fine in life who do. In fact, the guy I met in Peru was well cultured and had the funds to travel and indulge himself. My wife is a successful RN with almost 40 years experience and she doesn't trust the government as far as she can spit either. And in fact, my stepfather has a Ph.D and talking about government blunders are a favorite dinnertime topic of his.

Sucks your daughter hangs with losers though. My condolences. Maybe eventually she'll find someone who is both accomplished, and also has the common sense to question and criticize the powers that be. There are plenty of them.

She is referring to the Canadian/East German system of which she and her daughter almost certain benefited from.

See the German movie "The Lives of Others" when the Stasi officer tells the neighbour who saw that they entered the next door apartment that, basically, we know that your daughter attends ______ university studying to be a ______, it will be taken away and she will live a life of poverty if you ever speak a word of this.

THAT is how Canada operates. American freedom is why you innovate and have a superpower.
