I always suspected these numbers were dishonest. Now they cannot even be dishonest enough to continue the charade. I would suggest that the 2024 rankings are essentially in line with what has always been the case here:

ALL Western nations have seen a decline since 2015. Switzerland fell from 1st in 2015 to 13th in 2025.

But we're still happier than Americans who fell to 25th last year.

Is protectionism and quotas also economic warfare? What about non-tariff barriers or tampering in a company?

My daughter has a friend like that. She hates the government. She has also failed at everything she's done her entire life, and it's always someone else's fault. I have no patience for complainers like her.

Most Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border, and our weather and temperatures are no different than the Northern USA. Parts of Southern Ontario are at the same lattitude as Northern California.

It hasn't hit 0 Fahrenheit this year, at all. It used to get into the minus digits for a few days every winter, but it hasn't been below zero in Southern Ontario since the early 1980's, even for a few days. I have to admit to missing "real winters". This is the first winter we've had a lot of snow in more than 20 years.

The mom and pops are disappearing. Walmart is here, and downtowns are dying. There are malls everywhere with Marshalls, and Home Depots and Walmarts. Target went out of business, but Walmart is the most profitable company in Canada. I refuse to spend money at Walmart on principle. I loathe malls because they're all so cookie cutter, and filled with chain stores.

As far as I am concerned, Canada is much more corrupt, racist and sexist than the United States, it is just Canada is a lesser known small country that doesn’t get a lot of press thus can hide their corruption easier. Not to demean Canada but on the world scene they have little impact on the world. The makes it easier for Canada to criticize because in the world scene no one cares.
