Obviously the numbers are small compared to Mexico. But, with Trump shutting down Mexico crossings, 97% so far, Canada will be the next likely area for people to get to and come in to the U.S. It will be more difficult except for the Chinese to bring Fentanyl in. Funny how when Trump says something and to the left they make a big deal about it. But, with Biden and his dementia they never said a word. They just kept telling us how smart Biden was and how healthy and hardworking he was. What a joke. Trump is doing the right thing to also balance the trade deficit as well.

Some of Trump's actions may accidentally result in a net positive outcome, but this trade war with Mexico and Canada is not one of them. It does warn the rest of the world that he remains volatile and highly irrational.

It has always been about border security. The US asked both nations to halt the flow of fentanyl and undocumented people crossing into our nation.

They both said, "No!" That is tantamount to a declaration of war.

Now, they have capitulated because they know they are on the wrong side of history, but more importantly, I think that Trump would have sealed our borders and stopped full commerce from both countries, and they knew it.

Hours before 25% tariffs on Canada were set to take effect, the country's prime minister said the U.S. and its northern neighbor have reached an agreement to delay the import taxes.

President Donald Trump confirmed the deal later in a post on Truth Social.

"I am very pleased with this initial outcome, and the Tariffs announced on Saturday will be paused for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final Economic deal with Canada can be structured," Trump wrote.

illicit pill mill in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. Law enforcement officials seized illicit fentanyl-laced oxycodone
M-30 pills, suspected fentanyl powder, precursor chemicals and multiple other items related to the
production of fentanyl-laced illicit pills. As with the Mexicali, Mexico fentanyl pill mill seized in September
2018, DEA reporting indicated the organization operating the pill mill in Mexico City is linked to the Sinaloa
Cartel.

DEA reporting continues to indicate the Sinaloa and the New Generation Jalisco (Cártel de Jalisco
Nueva Generación or CJNG) cartels are likely the primary trafficking groups responsible for smuggling
fentanyl into the United States from Mexico. To date, the fentanyl synthesis and fentanyl pill production
operations dismantled in Mexico have either occurred in territories controlled by these cartels or have
had involvement by members/associates of these cartels. In addition, these TCOs are known to control
the trafficking corridors in Mexico that connect to California and Arizona, indicating drugs passing through
these associated areas would need to be approved by these organizations."
