Canada and Mexico come to the Table: Two Countries Concede on Tariffs

No they did not. The USMCA Agreement says that one party cannot arbitrarily slap tariff on another member unless it relates to trade. Trump has torn up his OWN agreement.

Why would anybody negotiate another deal with him when he'll just tear that one up too, if it suits him? This is why Trump has gone bankrupt 7 times.

Your orange baboon is out of control.
In near everything, Progs are for other nations. In the movie Independence Day, you would be for the aliens.

But why not try diplomatic first :dunno:

If you need to resolve an issue with someone, do you just resort to dick mode? Why did the US allow the trade imbalance?
You better learn how to grow food as your in a trade deficit with food producers.

I don't care what that says and if you weren't watching in the first 15 minutes he said first of all 25% on ALL imported auto's don't know if that also means parts like was originally planned.
WHF maga fuckup.

Canada did not have material tariffs on the US in the first place. They had a free trade agreement with the US.
Before January 1st, Canada had tariffs on certain U.S. products, primarily in sectors protected under its supply management system. These included:
  • Dairy Products: Tariffs ranged from 200% to 300% on items like milk, cheese, and butter to protect Canadian dairy farmers.
  • Poultry and Eggs: Similar high tariffs were applied to chicken, turkey, and eggs.
  • Grain Products: Some grains faced tariffs, though these were generally lower than those on dairy and poultry.
These tariffs were part of Canada's long-standing trade policies to support domestic industries.

oh i see - so donny has nothing to do with tariffs on canada & mexico...

got it.
Not seeing your point, (typically) He's already been in discussions with both.......:uhoh3:

What about your unhinged rant:
i switched nothing. donny has crap made over seas, whilst bitching about companies needing to come here & set up shop. he hasn't, he won't, because he doesn't want to pay a decent wage. donny is a hypocrite & you just can't admit it. it's ok, i won't tell anybody.....................................................
Specifically what items and what countries?

He's doing exactly what he said he would do, and what we elected him to do.
We don't care if you do not like it.

Effectively US has never got close to the limit of these tariffs...

"To support his plan to increase tariffs, President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the Canadian government charges U.S. farmers a 250% or 270% tariff on dairy products exported to Canada. That’s misleading. There are rates that high on the books, but they would only be charged if U.S. exports exceed predetermined tariff rate quotas, which the dairy exports don’t come close to meeting. "

This is just an anti dumping measure which is put in a lot of trade agreements... There is one for Canadian Lumber coming the other way... Otherwise if Canada who could end up with a lot of excess lumber could dump on the US market and kill the US lumber industry. Biden did step in to increase Canada's tariff because Canada was coming close to that, they weren't breaking it but US lumber found it very hard to compete...

And why don't the dairy tariffs come close to meeting the quotas?

In the real world, the USA, Trump is an incompetent buffoon who is destroying the US economy, all so he can be dictator for life.

The Dow Jones is dropping like a stone today. -1500 and the markets have only been open for a little more than an hour.

Trump went bankrupt 7 times, and yet YOU think he's a great businessman. The guy who lost the most money in human history is now in charge of the US economy. What could possibly go wrong???

It was Trump that negotiated those. They are only triggered over a certain amount. We could have done the same with them, and have tariffs still on things such as sugar.

You have no rational or factual basis for this claim.

Short term pain, long term gain. :dunno:

Yeah I do have a LOT of factual basis for the claim.

One bankruptcy can happen due to a LOT of factors, but more than one says you're not learning from past mistakes, and continuing with poor practices, 7 is a pattern of fiscal incompetence unmatched in human history.

American banks stopped lending to Trump in 2002, after his 4th bankruptcy, and to this day, they will not lend to Trump or his companies. That's why he was dealing with Deutchesbanke. Trump bragged that he walked away from his first 2 bankruptcies with $40 million in his own pockets.

The oversight managers New York State installed at the Trump Corporation to ensure Trump didn't strip the company of cash, put Trump on an allowance of $350,000 a month and said they had never seen anyone who lived or spent as lavishly - even those with far more wealth than Trump.

Trump said he would run the USA the way he runs his companies and this is one promise he has kept. Fiscal incompetence, chaos and mismanagement have been the hallmarks of Trump's business strategies, and he's done the same to the nation, in spades. Spending vast amounts of money and getting little in return.

Like using military planes for deportations. $100,000 to fly 81 deportees to South America. Cost to fly 81 people to Venezuela by commercial airlines $853 per person - one way. Trump spent 3 times that amount, and then forgot to notify the Venezuelans they were sending a military transport into their airspace, and they were refused the right to land.

I used to wonder how someone could be so fiscally incompetent to go bankrupt 4 times while running casinos, but after watching the first Trump administration, it was obvious why Trump is such a failure as a businessman.

You cannot demonstrate this to be true

No, Trump didn't do anything of the kind. He lied to the banks and to the investors to do it, which is why banks stopped lending to him.

If Trump were merely exploiting banking laws, others would have picked up on it and would have used his methods as well, or the laws would have been changed.

Trump lost over $1 billion in the 1980's, but his father bailed him out. By the 1990's, Fred's dementia was getting worse, and he was no longer able to help his son, and that's when the bankruptcies began.

I've been following Trump's career since the 1970's and I fail to understand why he didn't end up in jail in the 1990's, with the shit he was pulling then. Then, after 2002, he started selling high prices condos to Russians looking to launder money in the New York Real Estate market. Suddenly Trump was paying cash for everything.

But hey, YOU think Trump is a rich successful businessman, because he played one on TV. The Apprentice was a TV show!!!

Canada hasn't even made their tariff announcement yet, and we've agreed to nothing.

Canada is in no position to agree to ANYTHING at this point, other than further negotiations after the election.

Trump just announced the tariffs making a lie out of the OP.

Canaduuuuh is worthless and weak. It will do what is told.

Axios Bank is not a real bank, like Citibank. It's privately owned by a Trump supporter. Try again asshole.
