I’ll start with two things Trump said.

Trump proposed eliminating taxes on waitress tips, overtime, and SS. Libs always complain that the middle class get no breaks, but what about working overtime? Those are hourly jobs, held by poor, working class and some middle class. Retirees also have limited incomes. What happened to giving a break to these people?

Trump also said that kids are okay the way they were made. He was discussing people attempt to turn little kids into transsexuals. They panned the crowd and two men did not clap. What kind of man abuses kids to the point of making him a freak of nature? Certainly, normal people should be able to agree on that, should they not?

Wow, from the longest SOTU speech you can find only two things. Well, I'll give you one, the first one. As for the second one, it's pure hate speech, nothing more. The last time I was out and about, not one single person was out there trying to turn ANYONE into a trans.

No tax on tips, overtime or Social Security is PEANUTS for working people. A minimum wage of at least $15 per hour would give them a LOT more money than no tax on tips, or overtime. While reducing earned income credits, and reliance on food stamps and other government supports.

Given that the average wages and tips for waiters are around $18,000 to $23,000 per year, and you don't pay federal income taxes if you make less than $32,000 per year, how much of a "tax reduction" are ANY these people going to receive?

Trump makes it sound like this will be HUGE for working people, but it's NOTHING.

Also, we pretty much have a defacto $15/hrs min wage. Most everyone is already paying that.

When I made $30 an hour on Bay Street, and had to bank my overtime and only submit 20 hours per 2 week period, or I put myself in a higher tax bracket. When we registered a condominium in August, I was still getting 20 hours of overtime every pay period until Christmas, even though we finished the closings in early October. The amount of taxes I paid on overtime would still be less than $3000., and that's at
my Canadian rate of income taxes, which is higher than yours.

Rob Ford made a big deal out of the $70 car tax for Toronto car owners. But instead, we had to pay for government services that used to be free. The free swimming pool in our local rec centre now started charging for swims. $2. for adults. $1. for children. We had to buy cat tags $120. To put out more than one garbage bag per week, you had to buy a tag for a few dollars. I'd rather pay $70 to own a car than $500 in "service charges", to use the facilities my tax dollars were paying for in the first place.

but I work 15 to 20 hours of OT every week. That is pretty significant to have all of that calculated with no federal taxes
