As far as Trump gauding the Democrats to stand up if they prefer protecting American citizens over illegals, that is a pure con-artist play. If they stood up, they were playing into his hands and if they didn't, he could use that to do what YOU are doing.

Bottom line, it is a con and nothing else. It goes to show that Trump is "PLAYING" with people and not actually serious.

Why didn't he ask people to stand up if they thought he could do a better job than he is doing? That would have been a fair question, in which all Democrats would have stood up and likely a good amount of Republicans would have stood up as well?

Let's say you're right, that it was a con. But for me and many other conservatives, the question remains: Should the first duty of the U.S. government be to protect American citizens, not illegal immigrants?

I ask this and Trump asked this for a reason and that reason is that the way Democrats approach the problem of illegal immigration and illegal immigrants like, among other things, getting triggered by illegals being deported but not triggered by women being raped and murdered by them, it appears they do not prioritize American citizens vis-a-vis illegals.
