This article is about the growing links between Qanon and the evangelicals in the US. It struck me that all of the people quoted were former republican representatives.

I have no doubt that the cultists on here will dismiss them as Rinos because that is the reflex action of the many cultists.

But there is a growing list of republicans whp are now seemingly persona non grata in the party. Trump is encouraging his followers to primary these people for speaking out against him.

You would have a better idea than myself who is on the list but off the top of my head -
The Lincoln Project
Jeff Kemp
Romney
Cheney
Sasse
Murkowski
Collins
Flake
Cassidy
Gov Kemp
Vice Pres Pence
Sessions
Rove
Bolton

These are just national figures, I am sure that on a local level the purges are more extensive. Which brings me back to my original question. Can you be a non trump fan and have a place in the GOP ?

Maybe there are conservatives on this board who fall into this category ?

Sure. You won't have a political career and every Trump supporter in alt-right fantasy land will be gunning for you on social media and on the bowels of the Internet while all of his enabling sycophants in Congress turn against you, but you'll at least have the courage of your convictions. :)

Small comfort I guess.

I haven't heard any of that nonsense in MD and we have a Rep. governor. He's decidedly anti-Trump and got re-elected in a heavily Dem state. If the party went against him, it would be political suicide and a generation before there's another Rep. governor in the state.

It is an interesting question considering Trump's policies were 99% aligned with conservative voters, and he actually implemented those policies instead of just lying about taking that position, like many Republican Representatives. It would be like saying you reject classic republican positions which have been ignored by republican representatives, but you consider yourself a republican, which is odd.

I guess today's liberals don't support free speech or middle class workers, so I guess you could believe anything and call yourself a republican, sure.

Sure you can. I've found the GOP to be a big tent party welcoming different view points, and even welcome disagreements and debate.

They don't simply fall in line behind whatever the Party tells them, like the National Socialist, CCP, or DNC

Does the 's' in your handle stand for 'stretching'? :cool-45:

Of course, you can support any party or leader as you choose. It's all about policies, which is what so many Establishment politicians don't understand.

If another like Trump comes out with policies on the southern border, confronting China and the like, they will be equally popular, on EITHER side of the aisle.

The problem is, too many are beholden to their big donors. Many big donors want cheap labor, locally or in China, they don't care about the long term consequences to America.

This attitude and weak fortitude of "leaders" is how and why China will win.

In reality, sure.

In the Trumpster alternate reality, if you're not an obedient sheep, you're a radical pinko Hitler Venezuelan Nazi Chinese socialist Deep State Swamp Commie.

So it depends upon the reality to which you are referring.

You will ream the big tweet is you go against tramp, tramp has a vengeance persona:

Larry Hogan unsure why Trump faulted him for buying coronavirus tests (usatoday.com)

even rep. governors that he disliked anything about.
Trump isn't President....but I do love the adjectives you and the leftist propagandist use there...I read the article...not sure how he "blasted" Hogan...seemed like a misunderstanding, and that was all that was highlighted...not a "blasting"

Biden is President, and he has blasted and attacked American citizens that didn't support him, calling them neanderthals.....that's pure vengeance....just despicable

Your answers will be known soon enough as Biden and company destroy this country big time, otherwise proving that rejecting Trump policies, and his presidency, was a very bad idea that was orchastrated by those who helped bring in a Biden presidency in which was caused by their stupid bullcrap.

I disagree with this sentiment. If Pompeo or DeSantis run in 2024, and Trump isn't running, I am sure Trump could support either of them and so would Republican voters.

The whole "this Party or that" is silly. If a Party doesn't represent your interests or policies, why would ANYONE support them? Are we all blind, obedient zombies?

I've seen what has happened to Western influence over the last 30 years, it's almost certainly going to get worse. This isn't good for any of our liberty or human experience. Yet, some will happily sell the "same old same old" as it's a means to keep power, at the cost of citizens potential and quality of life.

Exceedingly, Western politicians are acting more like the Monarchy. Even down to the same bloodlines in their family running for office. How is this supposed to better for our prospects when this same clique has been wrong so often for so long?

It was striking that so many people were Gop heroes until they fell out with trump. And then they were immediately cancelled and we were told that they worked for the devil. They had failed the loyalty test.
The insurrection also showed us that he also has a violent private army so good reason to be wary.
