Can Trump declare the U.S debt and ongoing deficit a National Emergency to force deep cuts without resistance?

I said in 2016 that I believed this was your #1 National Security threat followed by China. That should suggest just how far your debt has come today as it is much worse.

Can Trump make the declaration as suggested in the title to go beyond what DOGE can suggest and in a more rapid manner?
Democrats have taught us that you can declare anything a national emergency.

Trump can DO anything he wants but if he cuts ANY social spending, he will hasten the next economic crash.

Trump is fiscally dangerous and incompetent. If he had any brains at all, he wouldn’t be responsible for 7 bankruptcies or lost more money than any businessman in history.

Keep believing the myth that Trump has ever succeeded as a businessman.

Not those entitlements, but costs of running government and boondoggles.

Also, what is wrong with Rand Pauls deal that increases the age of requirement by 3 months each years until it reaches an extra two years?

People are living longer than they were 50 years ago, right?
It won't be enough. The demographics mean it's not sustainable.

The only way to "fix" it would be to return to the original parameters: set the age to collect social security at the average life expectancy, plus one.

In 2010, then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, stated that, “the most significant threat to our national security is our debt.” It is hard to imagine a circumstance where the United States can continue to lead the world when we spend more on interest than on defense in a given year.
