Yes, there were a few Larry Elder types that did make deals with whites, but to say that all of Africa, every nation on the continent, willingly and freely sold other Africans into slavery is a lie. We call our selves African American because that's where our ancestry is. No different than white trace their ancestry. Do you work in human resources with documents with the designation? I haven't noticed it to be offensive. I hardly ever notice black people identifying themselves - I do not work in human resources. They are probably influenced by what has been prevalent in their elementary schooling.
