Can President Trump Really Rename The Gulf of Mexico?

I'm going with the Gulf of America. We have a vacation to Cancun coming up and I'm looking forward to having my first swim in the Gulf of America.

Wife and I are both Certified Divers (among other things) and we Dove Cozumel many years ago. It was okay. The water was, and I'm sure still is, beautiful. Did a "Drift" Dive. Fun City.

But -- It's still Mexico. And unfortunately, filled with Mexicans, who are even less sophisticated than our immigrant Mexicans. If you don't know, it's hard to explain.

Of course, the Plane we were on was a Trans Tequila Airways, so they sent all our luggage, including my Dive Gear, to Cancun. Had to rent gear locally and it was not good. The regulator didn't work, of course, and I about drowned by the time I got to the boat...... Weights, tanks, no air to inflate the BC (Buoyancy Compensator) More fun than anyone should be allowed to have.

It was very revealing, seeing how they work and live in their natural habitat. So, yeah. I wouldn't go again but I also wouldn't tell anybody NOT to go.

If he and his family stay in the resort, they should be just fine. Just don't go wandering off anywhere. Don't leave the resort.

Since it's so polluted and useless anyway put 4000 rigs in it.
4000 rigs, eh? Average cost for a deepwater drilling rig, platform and support, per rig is averaging $600 Million Dollar. So, you expect the oil companies to drop any idea of profits for many years, by making $2.4 Trillion Dollar investment for 4,000 rigs, in order to raise the output enough, to drop the cost and profit margin of their product, to glut the international market, so they have to compete hard for return on investment? What is your sustained goal of per/barrel price point? What does it do for the small operators and frackers in the rest of the country? With the size of our reserves compared to the vast reserves of the other countries (controlling their output), how many years supply would we have if we doubled our output?

Did you pass business or economics courses in college, or do you just desire cheap gas at the pump, whether oil companies make a profit or not? What would be the business motivation for those companies and their stockholders to do that for you?

It's called sarcasm...find the humor in it. Lifes too short to take this stuff seriously.

Well, I do get the impression, many people on here, think all the answers are simple, and with little regard for actual business or economics, regarding gas and oil.

About 125

The waters from about the MS and Alabama and going east are fairly nice and that is why Texas, Mississippians and Louisiana people come this way when wanting to play in the Gulf.

I think I'll be OK. Not going to be near the border, I get along with people good, I'll be in a big resort and I'm not rich. I doubt kidnappers would want a poor old bastard like me. But thank you for the info and your concern.
