Zone1 can one still say Sioux?

.

We still say Sioux.

The tribe which I believe my father came from is called Flandreau Santee Sioux.

This sign sits in front of the tribal office today.

The town I was born in is still called Sioux Falls.

All the signs next to the river still say Big Sioux River.

.
I guess that settles it

yes, when speaking in German, I say Deutsch
when speaking in French, I say Allemand
when speaking in English, I say German
etc ....

Those Eskimos are stupid, when they complain about a normal linguistic fact.

Well I learned something today. Why do you use Allemand? It's mostly white Eskimos who were whining about the name. Eskimo refers to the "Inuit" living in North Canada , Alaska, Greenland and Russia.

Wales is the English word for the Welsh Cymru.
Do the Welsh complain?
No.
Of course they complain. They complain that they're part of Great Britain. :auiqs.jpg: People complain all the time and how loud they complain determines whether or not you hear them.

Allemand is the French word for German.
And Allemagne is their word for Germany.

😊👍

suu for Sioux must be French, I think.
.

Yes, there were a lot of French about. We have lots of French place names that no one who speaks French says the way South Dakotans do.

Belle Fourche, Pierre, Bon Homme, Flandreau, Vermillion, DeSmet. (Although, Father Pierre DeSmet was Belgian)
