Within a month, however, he was back on the streets and arrested again for driving under the influence on Jan. 5. You might think that two DUI arrests in less than a month would be enough to put somebody in jail and keep them there, but this is California, where the “catch-and-release” policy turns criminals loose as soon as they’re arrested.

Remember, this is the state that elected Kamala Harris to the U.S. Senate. All the sane people left California a long time ago, and the entire state is now basically an open-air lunatic asylum, with murderous psychopaths roaming around looking for victims to rob, rape or murder.

Kept getting turned loose? You mean he wasn't actually breaking the law, the damned cops just kept arresting him over and over again just because they felt like it? Nothing to stand up in court for a conviction on the merits of the case without a forced confession and coerced collective bargaining plea agreement. He's quite naturally and justifiably pissed off and angry enough to kill any one of those dirty life-ruining cops who can't work up a probable cause in court for any of their false arrests anyways — because the cops always depend on a public defender (or private defense attorney as the case may be) to plead the suspect guilty without a trial, which the law enforcement community has traditionally deemed a waste of resources better spent on punishment.

City cops talk too fast, don't wait for an answer — they act like everything's a barroom brawl in the Wild West — party cops pick everybody up on Friday night, let the court system sort it out on Monday morning. They have not been taking the time or giving the attention to duty to get all that due process of law straight at the time of arrest. There's a pernicious attitude of picking guys up in response to calls from Karens and street hookers, and "getting the guns off the street" rather than doing actual detective work and fighting crime.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police say a man was assaulted and robbed by a group of people in Chinatown on Friday.

According to police, a 26-year-old man was attacked by a group of about 12 people around 11:30 a.m. near Canal Street and Allen Street.

Video shows the victim running from the group before he’s pulled to the ground. Individuals can be seen kicking and stomping the victim.
