California will close State Parks But Fund Illegals education

So explain to me who hires illegals? One of my jobs was to recruit and hire new deputies; to be a state, county, city or local district employee one must provide proof of the ability to work in the United States. So, government workers are all legally employed.

One argument posted ad nauseam is that small business is the engine which moves our economy. It seems small business - restaurants, roofing companies, painting & other contractors, landscape companies, lumber yards and larger business, motels, auto dealarships, big farma, etc. hire mostly spanish speaking employees. I don't ask for green cards, but it's obvious these businesses aren't hiring the local native born American.

given that the major part of the population in the state of California are liberal, I'd hazard a guess that it's liberals who are hiring the illegals and paying them under the table. they then try to tax their way out of the shortfall this causes and the legitimate business then pack up and leave the state.. that's what I think, meanwhile you still have more and more and more illegals to educate with less and less and less money to do it..

You might want to check the political map of California again there, skippy...

Know what's in a lot of that RED area? Farmland...

nice try. now link me to a table that gives the numbers of registered dimwits to Republicans and then where they live. I'll wait.

Some years The People's Republic of California purchased an entire headland in Mendocino County from the long-time owner who had allowed the public to use the hiking trails it had.

Then they spent several more million to erect a fence to keep people from using the trails and another million or two on signs that read (yes, they maintain them annually):

PUBLIC PROPERTY
Keep Out

The stupidity of California is proven by their continual re-election of the turds
who do this stuff.

So they build a fence to keep American citizens off public lands, but they don't want a fence to keep illegals from entering the country illegally.:cuckoo:

Don't you guys get yet that there is no way to build a fence high enough, deep enough or wide enough to keep illegals from entering. It would be a colossal waste of money to do that.

Build better relationships with Mexico and get them to do the right thing for their people. Maybe they would want to stay. Figure out the reasons why Mexicans come here illegally, it really isn't that hard to come up with other solutions that would work.

That's what the map shows, Einstein. Those are the CA counties and how they fall, Democrat (Blue) and Republican (Red).

There are more Democrats than Republicans by population (that's the amount of people, dear) and the coastal areas are more highly populated. This is the breakdown as of 2008:

Democratic 44%, Republican 31%, DTS 20%

Still...all those RED areas are mostly farmland...which brings me back to my point about it not likely being the "liberals" that are doing most of the employing of illegals. Oh sure...Meg Whitman might have one or two on staff...but farmers hire 'em by the dozens. I lived in farm country and one of the things we used to do on a boring Saturday afternoon is ride our horses through town shouting "Immigration!" just to see people scramble.

that's easy, innit, just cut off their sugar tits, but you lieberals would have a duck fit about that.

This is true, of course.

But with regard to the OP, the great majority of undocumented children came to the United States legally, with appropriate documents. The problem is the parents remained beyond authorization.

WT, CA is very diverse, to suggest a state of 38 million people is easily quantified is silly. I'm not sure if you're truly stupid, but it's clear you are so partisan you don't think (if you can, which I doubt).

Americans who are descendants of slave owners can easily recognize that the illegals are here by design of our government to provide an under class of cheap labor so that we can enjoy cheap products and services.

Don't know if it has been said in this thread or not that they are pawns of the Dems in terms of eventually casting their votes in that direction. If not it has been said somewhere. BUT...I'm not so sure about that. After all, the Hispanic population is more conservative, and as good Catholics do not support the notion of abortion, a major plank in the Democratic platform.

Exactly. Nation Building isn't working out well for us anywhere we're trying it and we don't seem to be making many friends in the process. I'm pretty sure the Mexicans would resent our telling them how to run Mexico however much they keep telling us how to run our immigration policy.

But all we need to do is enforce the laws that we now have in order to make it unpleasant and unprofitable for illegals to be here and they will stop coming. We may need a new law denying social services to illegals except for immediate emergency food, water, or medical treatment. And we need a Constitutional Amendment to make children born to citizens automatic citizens and not people who were born here because Mom happened to be in the states at the time.

That will not happen. And NO medical provider in their right mind would deny emergency care to anyone.

How is it that a RED state is providing so well for them.....? Hmmmmm. Put on your thinking caps....

Socialists/Progressives are a very ignorant bunch. I wrote California off a long time ago. They are definitely a fallen Empire at this point. They're just a Third World Banana Republic now. I just hope people wake up and don't allow the Socialists/Progressives to destroy our entire Country the way they have California. Make 2012 count America.

But we ARE providing drivers' licenses to illegals in several states. We ARE providing food stamps and other relief aids to illegals in several states. We ARE providing free education to children of illegals in several states, often to the very noticable detriment of our own kids. We ARE providing government subsidized housing to illegals in several states. We ARE providing ongoing free healthcare to illegals in all 50 states.

That kind of thing I want a new law to be specific that it will be illegal to provide to illegals, while not denying illegals necessary food, water, and emergency medical care for the relatively short time it will take to deport them. In other words I don't want to be inhumane to anybody, but neither do I want it to be in any way profitable to come here illegally.

If we stop these perks, the sometimes very large families won't be coming in with the workers and overloading the system. And then if we can make it so expensive and unprofitable for employers to hire illegals, the workers won't come either.

And of course the government is looking the other way re illegal workers when it is politically expedient to do so, which it IS politically expedient in California. Until we come up with a comprehensive guest worker program allowing just the workers--not their families--to come across the border to work legally, and then the worker returns home immediately when the job ends, employers are going to accept illegals as employees when that is all that is available to them at a price they can afford.

At least if we make it unpleasant and unprofitable to bring families across the border, the illegal workers will go home to their families when the job is ended.

NASHVILLE — The tax system collects its due, even from a class of workers with little likelihood of claiming a refund and no hope of drawing a Social Security check.
Illegal immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year. One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around $9 billion per year.

Paycheck withholding collects much of the federal tax from illegal workers, just as it does for legal workers.

The Internal Revenue Service doesn't track a worker's immigration status, yet many illegal immigrants fearful of deportation won't risk the government attention that will come from filing a return even if they might qualify for a refund. Economist William Ford of Middle Tennessee State University says there are no firm figures on how many such taxpayers there are.

"The real question is how many of them pay more than they owe. There are undoubtedly hundreds of thousands of people in that situation," Ford said.
But some illegal immigrants choose to file taxes and write a check come April 15, using an alternative to the Social Security number offered by the IRS so it can collect income tax from foreign workers.

"It's a mistake to think that no illegal immigrants pay taxes. They definitely do," said Martha Pantoja, who has been helping Hispanic immigrants this tax season as an IRS-certified volunteer tax preparer for the non-profit Nashville Wealth Building Coalition.

In addition to the taxes and SS they pay, they also provide cheap labor and from that cheap labor, we Americans enjoy products and services that cost far less than they would otherwise.

Where are the links to validate your statements? I would be very cuious to know the exact dollar figure involved.

It's overwhelmingly liberal, that's why you keep voting stupid shit bills into law. and of course it's why you are a broken down shit hole of a sanctuary state. deal with it.

Emergency rooms have closed their doors in cities near the borders because they couldn't handle the overload and the free medical care they were being required to provide had bankrupted them.

It is estimated that one third of all prisoners in the penitentaries across the country are illegals who committed crimes when they were here. I am quite certain that the burglaries, rapes, murders, armed robberies, and other crimes committed here in our area would go down dramatically if there were no illegals. And I am quite sure the cost of that plus the free social services provided is far more than any amount of taxes paid.

I was working a work comp claim for an illegal while back who was using four different social security numbers, four different names, four different addresses to access emergency rooms and get drugs. All were bogus of course, but if he had 'made up' your social security number and had run up a plethora of bills and crimes and obligations traced back to you, you could be years trying to straighten all that out.

And when you have seen as many financial records of small businesses over the last several years as I have, you would have seen first hand how illegals depress wages for all and make it more and more difficult for honest business to operate and compete legally.

n hosting America's largest population of illegal immigrants, California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.

Among the key finding of the report are that the state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens who now constitute 15 percent of the student body. Another $1.4 billion of the taxpayers' money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens and their families, the same amount that is spent incarcerating illegal aliens criminals.

"California's addiction to 'cheap' illegal alien labor is bankrupting the state and posing enormous burdens on the state's shrinking middle class tax base," stated Dan Stein, President of FAIR. "Most Californians, who have seen their taxes increase while public services deteriorate, already know the impact that mass illegal immigration is having on their communities, but even they may be shocked when they learn just how much of a drain illegal immigration has become.". . . .

. . . ."Nothing could more starkly illustrate the very high costs of ‘cheap labor' than California's current situation," continued Stein. "A small number of powerful interests in the state reap the benefits, while the average native-born family in California gets handed a nearly $1,200 a year bill."
Illegal Immigration Costs California $10.5 Billion Annually

With hundreds of thousands of illegals moving into California since that report--probably millions--the situation is far worse now. And California teeters on the brink of financial disaster.

You're going to have to come up with more than a bit of anecdotal positive news to offset the whole big picture which consistently shows that illegals are draining the economy far more than they add to it.

Oh, and if you question the credentials or motives of FAIR, read the 'about us' section at their website and here is a list of their board of directors with brief bios. Doesn't look like a hateful, ignorant bunch to me.

So children should suffer for the "sins of their fathers"? These people we are talking about likely came here as children, brought by their parents. They've likely gone to US public schools and want what children raised in the US often want to do...go to college.

What's YOUR solution for these kids?

Correct.

And punishing children for the ‘sins of their fathers’ violates the basic tenets of Anglo-American jurisprudence – declared un-Constitutional by the Court in Weber v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Co. (1972).

That case had to do with the rights of illegitimate children to inherit the wealth and property of their parents on par with their legitimate siblings. It has absolutely no application to this discussion.

Furthermore, if punishing children for the ‘sins of their fathers’ violated the basic tenets of Anglo-American jurisprudence then Affirmative Action policies and racial considerations in education would be illegal.
